Getting started
What is Kanbana?
With Kanbana, you use: - Boards - Lists - Cards You can easily add, edit, move, or delete Boards, Lists and Cards.
What are Boards?
Boards are used to separate projects - such as Work, School, Shopping Lists, Trip Plans, etc.
What are Lists?
Each Board is divided into Lists, which can be used to create individual lists or track status (such as Work on Today).
What are Cards?
Cards are list items, ideas or tasks to complete.
Can I access my account from multiple devices?
Yes! Create an account in order to access your Kanbana on the web at www.Kanbana.com, on your iOS or Android through our mobile apps, or from our Windows application.
What is included in the free and subscription plans?
Kanbana Basic is free of charge to use across iPhone, iPad, and Android devices and on desktop via the web or Windows applications. However, Kanbana Basic users are limited to using one board and no more than 20 Cards. Become a Kanbana Premium Subscriber to use more than 20 Cards, create multiple Boards and have an ad-free experience. Kanbana Premium is a paid service and will be charged either annually or through a monthly subscription.

What is Kanban?
Kanban is a simple way to see different lists visually all in one place. It was originally developed by Toyota in Japan to improve manufacturing efficiency. In Japanese, Kanban roughly translates into "card you can see" and is used by companies to manage workflows. We have taken this concept and created Kanbana so you can easily capture, visualize, and prioritize all of your lists in one place.
Is Kanbana easy to use?
We think so! We have purposefully designed Kanbana so it can be used by anyone who wants to get more organized. We have also made the onboarding process intuitive and created tutorials and other videos to help you. You can always see our Help Center for more information.
Can I customize Kanbana to how I think?
Yes! Boards, Lists and Cards can be created, edited, renamed, deleted, moved and reordered however you like. Also you can change the colors of each of the Cards.
Is a free trial available?
Kanbana Basic is free to use across devices - on web, Windows, iOS and Android. Kanbana Basic allows users to create and manage up to 20 Cards with a single Board. You can upgrade to Kanbana Premium if you want to use more than 20 Cards or create multiple Boards. Click on Pricing to learn more. Create multiple boards to separate your work life from your personal life or for different projects. When you sign up for Kanbana Premium, there is a 7 day free trial.
If I change something on one device, does it sync with other devices?
Yes! If you make changes on one device those changes will appear on other devices you are signed into. Once you create an account login, your data is stored safely in the cloud with us.
Boards, Lists & Cards
How do I create a new Board?
In the Menu tap on My Boards and then “create new board…” Only Kanbana Premium subscribers can have more than one Board.
How do I change a Board's name?
On Web, You can click on the name of the Board and then on the pencil icon to edit the name. On the iPhone tap on the picture of the clip-board in the upper right corner and then tap on edit. On the iPad just tap on the name of the board you want to edit.
My Board is frozen or not responding?
Generally the easiest and fastest way to get everything unfrozen and syncing correctly again is to log out and log back in.
Is there a way to duplicate or restore deleted Boards or Lists?
Yes, on the Menu tap Restore which will give you the option to restore deleted Cards, Lists or Boards.
How do I create a new List?
Create a new List by tapping “add List” which appears on the far right.
How do I delete or change the name of a List?
To delete or change the name of a List first tap on the list title (such as Doing Today) where you can then edit the title or to delete select the trash can in the upper right corner.
How do I create a new Card?
You can create a new Card by tapping either the “+” or “add Card”.
How do I delete or edit a Card?
To delete or edit a Card first tap on the Card to open it. Once opened you can edit text, change color, or tap on the trash can to delete.
How do I move Cards?
You can either drag a Card up or down within a List or move them to other Lists.
Accounts and subscriptions
How do I subscribe to Kanbana Premium?
You can subscribe in multiple ways depending on which devices you are using. You can subscribe when logged in at kanbana.com, in the iOS app through the App Store, in the Android mobile through the Play Store, or in the Windows application. Your subscription will apply to use across any of these platform.
How do I update or cancel my subscription?
Please update or cancel your subscription the same way it was started. If you subscribed on the web, please update or cancel your subscription at web.kanbana.com. If you subscribed through the App Store, you will need to update or cancel your subscription on your iPhone or IPad through the App Store. If you subscribed through the Play Store, you will need to update or cancel your subscription on your Android device through the Play Store.
I have added less than 20 Cards but still seem to be getting the Pop up Kanbana Premium reminder?
The pop-up only happens if you attempt to make more than 20 Cards or attempt to make more than one Board. To do either would require a Kanbana Premium subscription. The first column "Getting started" may have several Cards in it containing basic instructions. They can be updated or deleted and do count toward the 20.
